Understanding Diagnostic Imaging
An accurate diagnosis starts with actually seeing what’s going on inside the joint, bone, or spine causing your pain. We offer on-site diagnostic imaging so you can get answers the same day as your evaluation, instead of being sent to a separate facility and waiting for another appointment.
Imaging Services We Offer
X-ray. Shows bone alignment, fractures, and joint spacing.
MRI. Shows soft tissue in detail, including ligaments, tendons, and cartilage.
Ultrasound. Real-time imaging used for guided injections and some soft tissue evaluations.
Fluoroscopy. Live X-ray imaging used to guide precise injections and certain procedures.
Your specialist decides which imaging fits your specific evaluation. You don’t need to request a specific type before your visit.
How imaging fits into your visit
We examine you first, then order the imaging that actually answers the question your exam raises. In most cases, imaging happens the same day, so your specialist can review the results with you before you leave and explain what it means for your treatment plan, in plain language.
Why Advanced Orthopedic Center
We have four Southwest Florida offices: Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Venice, and North Port. No referral needed for imaging that’s part of your evaluation. Because imaging happens in-house, your specialist reads the results directly instead of waiting on a report from an outside facility, which means faster answers and a faster start on treatment.
Can I get imaging done the same day as my appointment?
